One rule decides the rest. We read the labels, question the ingredients, and leave out anything that's there only to save a cost. Plant-based soy wax instead of paraffin. Concrete painted by hand instead of throwaway glass. Six fragrances, chosen slowly.

Each jar is cast from concrete and painted by hand in our studio, then finished with a wooden lid. No two come out the same. The brush marks see to that. When the candle is done, the jar stays useful.

Two things we won't move on
Most of what disappoints in this market comes down to the same two failures: what's actually inside, and whether the thing is any good to live with. We decided early that neither would be where we saved money.
Nothing cheap, anywhere
Not in the wax, not in the vessel, not in the box it arrives in. Plant-based soy wax, poured by hand. Concrete cast and painted one piece at a time. And no claim printed on the outside that the product can't keep on the inside.
